There are many different types of fish tank heaters around for you to choose from if you have an aquarium at home. Submersible Heaters
These types of heaters can be fully submerged into the water without causing damage. It makes these types of heaters more efficient than hanging heaters. The heaters need to be placed in a position where there is enough space between the heater and the sides of the tanks. You certainly do not want any fish to get caught and fired.
Substrate Heaters
The substrate heaters are less commonly used by nevertheless these are just as effective to provide warmth to the tanks in a special way. The heaters make use of a set or rolls or wires which are then placed on the gravel at the bottom of the fish tank. The heat is then radiated from the gravel into the water heating up the space it occupies
In Line Heaters
This type of heater allows you to suction the water and pump through them and this warming up the water consider as it passes through. It can be sued together with a UV sterilizer. The water from the tank is pumped out of the tank and through these in line heaters and then the heated water is sent back to the tank.
In Filter Heaters
There are some heaters that contain a canister filter with a built in heater. The water is channeled through the filter and is warmed up nicely before it flows back to the fish tank.
